Wierd Problem with MTS2000

Well here is a strange one, can anyone shed any light on this?

Scenario:
Laptop running win 98se
CPS R02.00.01
Factory rib
MTS20000 Model one
H01rdd9pw1bn
code plug 0009
firmware 05.41
H37
Last programmed Dos RSS

Here is what is happening. I can read the radio fine, and when I make changes to the cp, then write it, I get a "checking codeplug" message then nothing. Radio goes into programming mode, and does the standard beeps. But it does not program it. Info screen still shows DOS rss

I get NO error messages, no indication that it is NOT being loaded. I do not have another MTS2K that I can try this with, but the pc has programmed them before along with Visars, and GP300's

Any ideas or do you need more info??

HELP!!!

I had a similar problem with a county top-display MTS2k, except in my case it wouldn't even read. RSS read the radio fine.

Maybe a problem with the truly aincient MTS2k's? The one I had this problem on was manufactured back in '93.

Yep, this is just one of many posts indicating the pre-toolproof firmware versions aren't compatible with the CPS.

I'm assuming that you've already tried reading it with your current version of RSS, and it's reported codeplug too new?

... I think the latest RSS you could probably get is R06.08.00 ... think it comes with CPS R01.13 (?? I forget if this is the right version).

Try 06.07. IIRC the .08 for the MT, and MTX units.
