Will an XTS2500 work with a Waris battery

Post by Wicho »

I've used the board's search feature and have found conflicting information.

Will an XTS2500 work with any Waris battery or not? If it will only work with some Waris batteries, which ones? Or am I SOL?

Thanks everyone!

It will work, the problem is the charging contacts are different heights when compared to a real xts2500 battery. So you need to charge the waris battery in its charger but the XTS2500 wont fit in the charger so you have to remove the battery to charge it. If you put a waris battery on a XTS2500 and put a correct height spacer under the radio in the XTS2500 charger then it will work.

I tried to attach my working WARIS battery to the military/government XTS2500, but it doesn't power on.

WARIS also doesn't works with XTS2500's battery (NNTN7032A).

May be reason in version of my XTS2500...

I know the Waris Li-ion ones will definitely work with an XTS2500. Don't know about other chemistries, but I don't see why they wouldn't.

When we were deciding between XTS5000 and XTS2500s I had a demo 2500 that worked fine with HT750 and HT1250 NiMh batteries.

My WARIS battery is HNN9009A. It does NOT works with my Marine Corps XTS2500.

Don't know why...

The reason why is that the contacts are oriented slight differently on a true XTS2500 battery. Take a look at a battery designed to work on either radio, and you'll find two sets.
