I am looking into getting several mobile radio's to use as base stations. I do not plan on transmitting on any of the radio's, just monitoring. I also need a power supply to have the ability to program a mobile radio. I am uncertain as to which power supply I should by and how many amps. My initial plan is to power (2) maxtrac's and a cdm 1550. Any recommendations and how big of a power supply to I need to go for?

If you will not be transmitting any decent 10 AMP supply should do. If they are trunked and need to affiliate you would have to switch them on individually. It all depends on what the power out of each radio is but 10 amps should be fine and give you some leeway if you accidently transmit.

I guess my concern is running multiple radio's off of one power supply. I dont want to blow it up. As previously stated, I do not plan on transmitting so I didnt think I needed something very powerful. Anyone have qualms with RS power supplies?

RS i assume means Radio Shack...
I have two of them in use no problems what so ever... The only thing I do not like is on the 25 amp one I have the fan is constantly running.
The 15 amp supply I have, the fan only turns on when you TX, so its much quieter. I have not noticed any noise on the signal.
I believe the 15 amp supply from RS is $80 and the 25 is $100.
