Batboard

I have programed my HT1250 made in Aug 2004 and I am being told it sounds muffled. My department is running a Kenwood repeater I have gone in and turned the compander on and it still sounds muffled. It recieves fine but transmits muffled I am using the mic on the radio I have ordered an ext mic to see if that changes. I have no tried it on another freq yet. Any suggestions.

I have no experience with HT1250s, but with MT/MTS2000 radios the pre-emphasis sometimes gets turned off. If the HT1250 has this option, you might check to make sure it is turned on. If it is turned off it can cause the transmit audio to sound muffled to other users.

Just a wild guess.
