XTS5000 Model Question...

Post by DewAddict »

Are there any major losses to not having a full keypad on the 5000 other than the ability to use DTMF tones? I assume it may take a bit longer to switch zones without it also, but is it worth the price difference?

Well, a Model II, which is for lack of better words, half of the buttons would suit you fine, so long as you dont need FPP or DTMF. You still switch zones the same. Others might want to chime in on something I've missed.

MDC/Astro Call list, Soft ID...etc. If you want to change them on the fly, you need a full keypad, otherwise, you need to preset a list in CPS.
