The low battery alert is there for a reason, to tell you that the battery is low. A poor power connection can sometimes create the alert also. And as far as the transmit inhibit, are you referring to the inhibit with the low battery alert or something else?

Low Battery Alert

Post by mnl001 »

We have clients that are finding they cannot transmit from the PM400 while they can from the CDM series, the M1225, GM300 and so forth.

They can start a tandom truck, but cannot call for help if they run into problems. This is why I am looking for a work around.

In the CDM you can at least use the global tuner to assist in this.

Ok, I see. Well let me ask you this, what is the voltage level at the plug when the radio gives you the low battery alert? And what is the voltage at the battery? My gut feeling is that you might have to find another power connection, or get some new batteries, but then again the newer radios are essentially computers with rf jacks and it could be a bug with the low battery alert. You could also change the power setting to low and see if that makes a difference. I'm not sure what the minimum operating voltage is but you could probably set it up on the bench and find out.

What is the ID of the resistor and where is it located?
