HT1550 Questions

Hi,
My fire department currently uses HT1250 and HT1250LS+. We get them because they are cheap compared to other Motorola radios. I am looking at the HT1550 radios. One big thing is a neighboring town uses the LTR trunking so we need a portable capable of this. The downside of the HT1250LS+ is that it only has 32 conventional channels.

I have a few questions......

Does the HT1550:
Take the same battery as the HT1250
Take the same speaker mic and programming cable
Use the same programming software

Have a channel selector that keeps spinning or stops at 1 and 16?

How many channels can I program in a conventional bank?

Can I get some opinions on this portable would be great!!

Same battery as the 1250.. And, if you use the red label battery the 1550 becomes FPP capable.

Same speaker mic and program cable..

Same CPS for programming..

The radio has a cont channel knob with no stops..

You have 160 conv channels to work with..

Hope that helps..

One more question about it.....Can you have a LTR channel mixed in with the conventional bank??

I know you can't with the 1250's and it is a chore teaching some guys how to change zones.

Thanks!

Nope, no mixing of conventional and LTR personalities in banks.

I figured that would be too good to be true! Thanks for the quick replies.
