HT1000 Speaker mic problems

Post by EastTnLC »

I try to connect a speaker mic to my Ht1000 and I hear nothing through the mic nor can I TX. I tried another mic just to see if it was my radio or the mic and it is my radio. I have checked all internal ribbon cables and all appears to be intact. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks!

Try cleaning the contacts in the accessory connector.

Unfortunatly, we run into a LOT of these and usually it's a bad flex, even if it looks good visually. The flex can be gotten and replaced, if you have DTMF then it's much more difficult, we use a jig to line the pads up with the new flex and a hot air station to solder it. You can buy the complete flex with all the electronics attached. Good luck.
