Okay, I am asking for assistance on the best way to install a 2nd battery. I got too much sh*t draining my battery so I have mounted a 2nd battery in my truck and am working on wiring it in. Using two yellow top Optimas, one to drive my add on stuff and the original battery location to drive the factory stuff.

I want both batteries to charge when the vehicle is running, use only the main battery for starting and have the option to jump it with the 2nd battery. Anyone know of a kit for this?

You have two ways to do it... continuous-duty high-amperage solenoid, or an isolator. If you're going to do an isolator, Hellroaring is the only way to go.

The Wrangler stuff is nice, and quite complete... but you're going to pay a premium. You should be able to build everything you need and save some cash.

Ive sent them several emails with no response, they are not getting my business if they can't answer a simple email.

I use a TJM IBS system in my truck to control charging and isolation between my OEM starter battery (soon to be replaced with a Optima Red Top) and a bank of two Optima Yellow Tops which all non-OEM electronics in the truck run off of. I'm very happy with the performance of the unit, plus the control head display gices you more diagnostic information (seperate bank voltages, charging current, manual/auto connect, etc) than one of the simple throw-switch designs (a la Hellroaring).

The kits are a tad pricy (around 350-400), but I think it's worth every penny.
