Jedi "Shoe" Charger Question

Post by Rayjk110 »

Hello All..

Just got 2 XTS3k m3's in, both of which came with the NTN7209A "shoe charger", but the radios came wiht NiMH batteries...now, altho the charger base says only to charge NiCd's, altho I've heard from just about 3 people now that it will do NiMh's....

So...can it do both? I'm thinking not because of the label..

I've got one of those also. Mine is date coded 9935 and marked rev.05 , doesn't have the NiCad only warning. I've seen several cross reference charts on this charger and all indicated Nicad/NiMh compability. Perhaps the chemistry compability was changed at some level of revision ?
If you wanted to dig any further on a search look under NTN1168, this is the part # assigned to the NTN7209 when supplied with a US power cord
or NTN1167 and NTN1169 for UK and EU versions.
