I have an A4 cotrol head that the volume control does not work. All other buttons function normally. I opened up the head and the capacitors look good. In the RSS I can't change the control head type, it is set for standard. I was wondering if this is the problem or could it possible be the actual potentiometer for the volume is bad. I did put a friends A5 head on it and the volume is fine. Or could it be a leaky cap that just doesn't look like it has gone bad yet? The codeplug has been changed by bitbanging it from an A5. Maybe I didn't change everything I needed to change, it was my first time at bitbanging. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your problem isn't the head, it's the radio-wide options- it needs to be changed from standard to rotary, which may require LAB to do, I don't remember right off hand...
Ok, if anyone can help me, I do have access to Lab 4.04 I thik it is. I know it's 4 something. I really appreciate any help. I would hate to have to go and buy an A5 head, this A4 looks brand new, in fact it still had the plastic on the LCD when I got it.
That's this Saturday? Crap, I have to work in the morning then go to the L.A. County Sheriff's Emergency Operating Bureau after that. I won't even be home until around 1500. Is there anyway you could help me online? I wish I could make it to the swap meet, I have never been. Thank you,
I am always on 145.300(-) PL 100.0 and my call sign is KG6YZB. This is the LACDCS repeater. They are putting up a brand new repeater this weekend, so it should be up and running by then. If you have another frequency you prefer, let me know. Thanks,
I can program in that VHF freq into one of the AS2's I'll be selling, it will work just as well and maybe someone will notice me using it... to which I'll say "Wanna buy it?"
Anyone else from the LA area plan on going to TRW?
Thank you to everyone who responded. I finally figured out what was wrong. The MLM I had was a version 1.10, so I swapped it for a 6.10 version. That did the trick, it was just weird that the only thing that didn't work was the volume. Thanks again everyone, and I will definately be out to the swap meet at TRW for my first time on the 31st. I look forward to meeting all of you.
