XTS3K 9600 baud Codeplug

Hello to all on the board:

I have an XTS3000 Model I 800 mHz (without the screen) that I am trying to find a codeplug for. The radio has these options installed:

Flashcode: 100008-000480-9

Q806/G806 IMBE / APCO-25 Digital Operation
H38/G51 Smartzone Operation
Q173/G173 Smartzone OmniLink Operation
Q361/G361 Digital APCO-25 IMBE Trunking (9600kb Control)

Now, here's the caveat: It has to be compatible with RSS ver. R07.50.00...is there such a beast with the old RSS? The radio was originally programmed with CPS, so I get the "Codeplug too new for this application" error. I am just trying to not have to get the CPS if I can help it.

Thanks again!

OK,

You need HOST firmware version 6.xx for that to work. If you jam a codeplug in that has 9600 baud trunking into a radio with firmwaree anything other than that - it simply wont work.

r0f posted some info on this about 4-5 years ago now - do a search...

You are probably best off getting a flash upgrade from moto (which contains the firmware and flash you require)

Without reading the radio, that flash "Looks" pretty legit, and should have the correct firmware in it.

You would have better luck in picking up the latest CPS to program the radio (and don't ask for the software on this board). Since RSS 7.5 was released, many software enhancements and feature were added, stating with RSS 8.0.

To keep it simplier, unless you have a saved codeplug from RSS 7.5, your screwed. Using the newer stuff is your best bet.

since there is only one extremely old host/dsp that supports 9k6, i wonder what they are planning to do about rebanding on those 3000s

Not true - Host 6.xx is current and is the 9k6 version of 7.71

Even works with the new LCDs too..

Correct - XTS3000 5.1 is still a currently supported product.

ok i guess the disconnect i had was i think of 5.x/6.x as being an outdated host/dsp

never occured to me they were keeping this version concurrent.

i wonder how "available" it is

I may be able to help you, here's the specs on my XTS3000...
AAH09UCF9PW7BN 1000080004809
R06.11.03 DSP N08.01.00
This is a factory tagged radio, so it's as legit as they get. It's even intrinsically safe.
unfortionately I run CPS R05.00.02

Let me know if I can help. After typing that I realized you wanted model 1, This is a model 2.

Thanks to all for their quick and informative reply. I think it is time to just break down and buy the CPS for them. I have one9 9600 baud (the one I was asking about) and a couple of older 3600 baud ones.

Thanks again!
