Hi, I have a 2002 year model CVPI and after we did my radio install the air bag light started blinking it would blink 5 times stop, blink one time more then cycle for about 3 times then it would just stay on. Does any one know if this is a code or what could be wrong?

Check your front seat belts near the transmission hump, make sure that they are plugged in. Also, grounds on the lower A pillars.

Hey, Travis, this is Josh. Save up your pennies and take that thing to the dealership so they can read the code, or call the service center at A.C. Collins and give them the blinking-light sequence and see what they tell you.

To everyone else: Me and another guy did the install on this guy's car. It came with an integrated MDT modem/GPS "black-box" system still partially installed that, among other things, would phone home in the event of an air bag deployment. When we got it, thet airbag light was not on, the seat belt sensors were already cut, and there was no wiring interconnected from the "box" to the PCM, so we just cut the power to it and pulled it out.

Things got interesting when we noticed an obviously factory-installed ground disconnected from the frame ground bank on the passenger-side A pillar down by the door. We put it back on after removing the rest of the old wiring from the old install. I have a sneaking suspicion this may be the cause of his problem, but not knowing where the ground went to or how the "black box" was originally integrated into the car's electrical system I can't say for sure.
