I know how to switch the spectra from RF Modem to regular radio, but how do you do it with the astro? I can't seem to find it in the RSS or the CPS?

There is a check box somewhere, dont remember exactly BUT I have dealt with one RF modem (astro spectra) in the past and it NEEDED a firmware change to get it out of RF Modem. Simply unchecking the box didn't do it.

What host/dsp is the one you are working on?

i am not sure. It is a friend of mine who called me last night wanting to know where it was located and I couldn't find it anywhere. I think he was using RSS so that is where I was mainly looking. When I couldn't find it there, I looked in CPS to see if it was a CPS only option which I was pretty sure shouldn't be and couldn't find it there either.

Well in CPS it is --- Conventional>Conventional Configuration>General and then a check box under HUB defeats PL and Direct Frequency.

I'm still searching in the DOS RSS.

Ok if all else fails pull out the DOS RSS manual :). Radio must have trunking and from main menu F4-F4-F2 (Trunking radio wide options). Also in the same place for CPS (CPS 5.01 seems to have it in two places, 2.0 has it only under the trunking menu).

I didn't even look in the trunking section. I will give it a look and see.

There's an RF Modem option in the Trunking section.

Had one recently that powered up in RF modem mode. Found the option checked in the trunking options in 9.05 DOS RSS.

Yeah, found it in the trunking section. As soon as I selected disable, everything worked fine. Thanks for the help.
