Astro Saber II drains battery when turned off?

Hello All,

So I have come across an unusual problem. My Astro Saber seems to be draining my batteries even when its turned off. This is something I find rather frustrating as its not really all that fun getting to work and finding out that the radio you charged only hours ago has a dead battery. I'll start out with a freshly charged known good battery, and the radio will drain it about 4 hours later.

Does anyone else have this problem and know what it is or how to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I had an HT1000 and an analog Saber that did that. In both cases it was due to a bad PA which apparently goes into oscillation and since one leg is always live on the B+ side, it ends up sucking the battery down. In the case of the HT1000, I ended up flat rating it and it came back with a new RF board. The Saber got a new PA (well, pulled from another donor radio).

after looking at the rf board on my AS i noticed a striking resemblance to that of a jedi board. im probably wrong here and i know for a fact that they're different. but would i be able to use a PA from a 403-470 jedi board on a 450-512 astro saber board??

probably not, but if anybody knows for sure, then let me know.

thanks
