Batboard

I have a 100 watt MTR2000 UHF repeater that was DOA. When I removed the cover from the power supply (cover closest to the front panel, just in front of the fan) I found some fuses and a blown up "something".
After careful checks I determined that the "something" was in series in a circuit, and I figure it was a low value surge supression resistor. It was shaped like a disk capacitor or a MOV however.
When I short out the leads that went to the device, the repeater comes up and works fine.
Technical info on the internals of the power supply, as you know, is almost non-existant out here in the service world.
I don't want to send this hummer in for depot repair for a $5.00 part.. any idea what it was?
The board is silk screened with R3 where the device was, in between a couple of fuses.

I don´t know the schematic of the MTR 2000 power supply,but if it is in the primary part of a switched mode power supply,it shoud be a NTC about 2,2-4,7 Ohm.This NTC is not critical.It´s only to limit the current,when you switch the mains on.You can find such NTC in a PC power supply too.

I had a power supply here for the mtr2000 so I checked the part. The part at location R3 has the following markings on it. Line 1 "KCC", line 2 "1314270" and line 3 ".02". Don't know if this will help you find a replacement but it was here and easy enough to check.
