Anyone ever used DTMF signalling on a Spectra?

Post by Elroy Jetson »

As a matter of convenience, I want to set up my new A9 Spectra for
DTMF signalling, so I can be alerted by another user on the channel
by him just dialing my number.

I programmed it in as well as I know how to do at the moment, but it
didn't work when I tested it. I dialed up my number from another radio
and I didn't get any alerts.

Does anyone know all the tricks you have to pull to make this feature work?

Dont you need a DTMF Decoder option board for this, or was that for the MaxTrac?

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

I have only seen this work in 900MHz Spectra's, which had HearClear/DTMF installed.

Never was able to get it to work in VHF/UHF Spectra's with recent firmware. That's what DTMF is for :)
