Astro Spectra control board programming problem

Have an 800 MHz Astro Spectra that doesn't seem to
want to talk to the RIB. The RIB and cable is fine and
works with other Astro Spectra radios.

The radio functions fine. wanted to change some
channels and found I can't talk to the radio.

Any one have any ideas on where to look?

If it comes to replacing the control boiard, are there any
issues doing it?

I am use to working with the older Spectra boards and
you ran into serial number issues between it and the
MLM. I understand the Astro is different, but haven't
had to go through this before.

Is the radio dash mount or remote mount?

Are you using the rear 15 pin connector, or if remote mount the front 25 pin connector?

Using RSS or CPS? Error encountered?

And the good ol' standby, Host/DSP?

This is a dash mount.

Trying to program from the 15 pin rear connector.

Using CPS R05.02.00

R096000
N060501

1 meg
flashed
100004-
000000-4

Think this is what your asking for.

Software dosn't give an error, just says :
communication with radio failed.

Doesn't say serial bus failure and the RIB data light
does do some flickering

Could be the rear connector is flaky or bad somehow.

Do you have an extra remote kit or one you can swap, and a 25 pin cable you can test it with?
