Centracom PTT location
Ok... I have the audio connections for both TX and RX. I DO NOT want to have to spend lots of money for tone remotes. Does anyone know where I could pull PTT from?

Re: Centracom PTT location
Question 1: Does the BIM card have a jumper or dip switch to configure PTT?
Question 2: Is PTT normally on as a default?
Thanks,
David

Answer 1: No. The BIM only has DIP switch settings to indicate the TDM address (DIP 1-7) and whether it is a BIM or TBIM (DIPN6QDY wrote:Question 1: Does the BIM card have a jumper or dip switch to configure PTT?

Answer 2: Maybe. I seem to recall that Relay Keying gets enabled by default on CCGE CEB's, but I could be wrong. It's been so long since I worked on Series II Plus that I don't remember if it is or not. A little experimentation will answer your question for you - install a properly configured AUX module and see what you get.
The issue is, if you have tone keying enabled as well, you're going to need to shut it off as your transmitter will give you HLGT + Function tone + LLGT (BIM mode) or HLGT + LLGT (TBIM mode) during the transmission.
Anyone still using DC keying should be dragged out and electrocuted.
