Dead Pixels?

Hi all. I've got a Tait Orca that is having some LCD issues. It seems every other line doesn't work (although that isn't definate). I'm wondering if there are any tricks I can use to try and bring them back to life.

I'm wondering just what would cause pixels/lines to die like that in the first place. It's never been abused, as the LCD is behind a rather robust protective plastic that doens't have any dents/deep scratches on it.

Thanks guys!

Sounds like either a display driver problem or a poor connection between the driver and display.

That's what I thought too. If I play with the connection on the PCB, some lines come and go, so I'm thinking it's probably that.

Tait wants an ungodly $160 for a new LCD assembly. I'll make due.

Pardon the terrible quality, my cellphone camera doesn't work so well without lots of ambient light - but it should give you an idea what I'm talking about.

It's supposed to say "SIMPLEX"

I don“t think you have d LCD driver problems. The connection foil from the driver to the LCD is the problem. You have to get a new LCD assembly.
Fixing it with a hot air gun,is not a permanent solution.
