I'm looking at a few Spectra mobiles to add to my collection of Motorola stuff.
I'v found a few of these Spectras cheap T45ZXA5JC9AK.It is supposed to be an 800 Mhz trunking radio. The seller tells me it will scan,as have others with similar radios.I noticed in the batlabs spectra page, that they do not scan. From the spectra page....Certain Spectra's like the Smartnet or Securenet radios don't have scan. You can't enable it in anyway. The board inside the radio that controls the scan feature is not present in the radio.
So,do these things scan or not ? Could they have been upgraded or hacked to do so ? If they don't,what is needed to make them scan, and how hard is it ?
If they won't scan,what should I be looking for in a Spectra that will ? I need 800 Mhz type II trunking,preferably with a remote head,like a C7,or a 9000.

Re: Spectra mobile questions
I've re-read that for years. It's nonsense. At least every C??ZXA radio that's ever gone through my hands
scanned fine. If for some reason it doesn't, check out the moflags info on Batlabs. You should be able to
enable it.

Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...
