I'm my own tech support...

I was on the phone with Parts ID this afternoon asking for some information and part numbers for some older equipment.

The technician that helped me offered as much assistance as he could and even after conferring with one of his co-workers, pointed me to "That Batwing Web Site". I asked if he was referring to Batlabs and he said, "Yes, that's the one."

He also confirmed that THEY, Parts ID refer to Batlabs as needed.

Dr. Demento used to play a song called "I'm my own grandpa".

Why do I get the feeling there will be a song shortly called, "I'm my own tech support"?

I'm my own tech support
Oh, I'm my own tech support
I work with radios
And solving problems is my sport
Now I'm my own tech support

There's the chorus...someone else come up with the verses.

I put Micors and Pulsar phones in many a car
Started my career in IMTS
Love taking a bite from a new Mercedes with my 3/4 hole saw
Sends lesser men running to the nearest bar!

Okay, one sucky verse...you come up with the rest...

More years ago than I care to count....
I was a seaman apprentice at a Navy installation in a small town in California. We had a siren at the fire department that would sound at noon. Every day the fire dept would call the radio dept to sync their clock with the radio depts WWV synced clock. Every day at noon the radio dept would set their clock when they heard the siren.

We were about 8 minutes off from the rest of the world when it was finally figured out.
The chief in charge of the radio dept. was severly chastised!

You did better than I did. I was on the phone with them trying to check availability of a Micom HF SSB radio manual, and wound up on a VOIP line to India. The guy at the other end told me that my local Staples Office Supply store was the place to check for a manual!

It's nothing new that they tell you to come check this site... I've been told that a number of times.

It's even more fun to call up and ask for a programing cable schematic, and you'll get told just look here.

You'll know it's the end of the world as we know it, when MOL tells people to come here for unsupported software.

Just goes to show that Moto don't give jack about the older radios. If they can't make thousands off it they won't do it.
