Trying to read a MTX9000 with Ver 6.0 RSS. Software reads the codeplug then states "Codeplug to new for this application."

Is there a release newer than Ver 6.0 ?

Please advise...

Thank's

RVN4176 is MTS2000 CPS, and it wont program your MTX9000.

According to the part# it is compatiable.

RVN4176M 1-CD MTS2000, MT2000*, MTX8000, MTX9000
1-3.5 *programmed by DOS which is included in the RVN4176

it says that because the cd for the mts's cps and the floppy for the mt's and mtx's rss are both in the same package but you still need to use rss 6.08 to do what you want.

Thank you for the clarification. When using rss to program does it have to be the same version? Or can you use any of the RSS versions as long as it has not been programmed by CPS?

You can use any version of RSS as long as it is the same version or later.

Once you use CPS though, you LOSE the ability to program your radio with ANY version of RSS...stay with RSS and you will be fine.
CPS is not worth the added cost just to be able to use windows...IMHO.

If your radio was programmed with a later version than what you currently have, then you have problems, although minor.

If you can find someone that has version R06.07, then you will probably be just fine.

It's probably a safe bet your radio's firmware is older than 5.42 as most appear to be 1.xx to 2.xx at best.

My firmware version is R01.51...so once you get operational..go nuts!

that rule of thumb is correct but only for the mts's, the mtx's and mt2000's are rss only. so you will need the version it was last programmed with or newer and you will be good to go.
