High-Power W3 Astro Spectra ?

Post by bellersley »

Hi guys, quick question. If I have an Astro Spectra with a standard head (4/5/7/9) and want to put a W3 on it, aside from the codeplug issue, is the interconnect board any different? This is on a 110W radio. I know with the mid-power radio, the W3 requires a different interconnect board. If the 110W version is any different, what's the correct part? Thanks!

Don't trust the one in the manual. I can get it for you. Don't trust Parts ID, either; they steered me wrong! PM me to remind me to dig it up.

I've been told by a pretty reliable source that you can use a W3 control head with the regular interconnect board, but you have to jumper two pins in order to get the radio to turn on. I'd still be interested to know the correct p/n, but I hear it's somewhere to the order of $300 on MOL.
