Astro Spectra & Rebanded Firmware

Going through the CPS, I see a check for "Rebanding Enabled" and the control channel tab reads "700_800 Control Channels".
This looks to me like if the firmware is high enough, that the radio can be programmed on 700 MHz frequencies. My gut is telling me that there is no way for this to happen, but I can't help but wonder why the tab is labeled like that if the Astro Spectra can't support it.
Anyone care to elaborate on this?

I have a similar question. I have an XTS3000 with host of 7.07.xx and according to
this thread, my host is pretty far off. However in the CPS "rebanding enabled" is checked. So I'm not too sure what's going on...

rebanding and the 700 Mhz systems have nothing to do with each other.
Astro Spectra can be rebanded but will not work on 700Mhz system

So why is there even reference to 700 MHz control channels on the Astro Spectra?

Just a common tab between the CPS's.

try entering a 700 cc in and watch what happens
it wont take it
I think that with rebanding to the CPS was probably a global patch to
all CPS and therfore the 700 was added too for the newer radios.
Who knows?

Any reason why a radio with firmware that shouldn't work has the rebanding enabled checked? I tried some BS 700 freqs and they wouldn't take obviously... Anyone know of any "rebanded" control channels to try out to see if it is indeed rebandable?

You need the correct firmware
