Nice dude, I was thinking of doing the same thing with my W7 AS. Instead its panavised to the center console...didn't want to destroy the shaker500 system in my 2007 GT
I posted them all on the HS forums:

Very nice! What kind of factory radio was in there before you pulled it? My Explorer has a double-din factory radio (CD/Casette/AM/FM) that also controls a CD changer, and if the CD changer ever goes dead like my last one did I'm going to do an install like this.

It was just the basic double din stock ford POS cd player

My explorer has the Bose sound system in it, so I guess if (when) the CD changer goes i'll stick a spectra in there. So is that a whole radio in there or just a remote head?

Just the remote head I rigged with some metal hook up straps I got from the local stereo install shop

works great and looks even better

Well, kudos and a VERY NICE and clean install.
It's tempting me to rip out a perfectly good stereo and CD changer.

Nothing wrong with an upgrade

I think a In dash DVD player with touch screen might be a nice addition
