P1225 ribless cable / reading problem

I have an aftermarket P1225 cable and can not get a radio to read. When start to read the radio, the status bar says reading radio, then an error screen comes up saying to check the RIB and check to assure radio is powered on.
Is this the error screen that would come up if I had an older version of the RSS and the radio was read with something newer or is there maybe something wrong with my cable?
Thanks

The cable is most likley the problem.
Does the "cable" replace the battery? The programming connection is on the battery side of the radio. Some aftermarket batteries do not have the PGM pin connected thru to the back contact on the battery for programming in the programming stand.

Yes, it replaces the battery---I have done P1225's before. One day I was doing some, did 2 P1225 and then the next one---No work, today same issue.
I have another cable that is a GP300 battery, but there is 3 wires from it I use to program a GP350...Red, Black and Blue. One on the GP350, you connect one to metal side, 1 to the metal clip and then the third I use a small flat head screw driver, clip goes onto screwdriver and hold the screwdriver onto metal space on radio.
Can I use that cable with the wires to the P1225?
If so, what wires go to what?
Thanks
