Astro IMBE Simplex Channel NID Question

Hello Astro/IMBE Gurus!

I have a question/problem concerning an IMBE simplex channel I am trying to implement.

I have an XTS5000 that is programmed to 460.000MHz for both Tx and Rx, with a Tx NID of "000" and Rx NID of "465".

Questions:
a) Can this combination of Tx and Rx NIDs allow for simplex operation?
b) Are there other muting/unmuting features I need to be aware of in order for this to work?
c) Can I use equivalent XTS3000 radios programmed the same in the same fleet? (i.e., no firmware dependent features I need to watch out for?).

Thanks very much in advance for your help!

For simplex operation the NAC must be the same for Tx and Rx just as the pl tone must be the same for analog simplex operation.

The unmuting condition I use for digital simplex is Standard Unmute and it works fine.

Any P25 radio programmed with the same frequency and NAC will talk to each other assuming they are all IMBE and not a mix of say VSELP and IMBE. Also make sure all radios in your fleet are properly aligned and set to C4FM modulation.

You should be able to have a different PL or NAC on TX than what you have on RX. It doesn't matter if the frequency is simplex or not, it'll work as long as you program the other radio that you want to talk to the exact opposite.

Yes, that will work if your radio fleet consists of no more than two radios... :(

I was just pointing out that he could program the radio like he asked.
