Can R2.00.01 use a codeplug that was edited with R01.09.00?

Say I have a MTS2000 that was last written to with R2.00.01. Can I modify a codeplug with R01.09.00 and use R2.00.01 to write to the radio.

it's possible, all you can do is try it and see. the worst that will happen is it will tell you codeplug too new.

Um, I think he is going the other way. His codeplug was written with version 1.09.00 and his software is 2.00.01. Motorola's software is USUALLY (but not always) backward compatible, so in theory, it's possible.

Umm, are you trying to stay compatible with R01.09? Because, no matter what you do, R2.00.01 will make it incompatible. And if this WAS the case, why not use the newer CPS to just READ the radio to get the codeplug?

The radio was programmed with v2, the codeplug in it is v2, I wanted to edit the codeplug with v1.9, then send it back to be programmed by v2 until I have an up to date programming setup for the MTS.

Does not matter, can't read the v2 codeplug with v1.9 anyway.

Should have waited to post the question when I was fully awake

P.S. I was just trying to get a codeplug to be dumped into the radio by someone else, as a time-saver.
