I have aquired 4 Motorola HPN3000a base power supplies. Can someone give the the working amps and the connector pinout. These did not come with the 12 volt connectors.
For some reason I am unable to look this up on Motorola online.
Any help appreciated, as always

120/220/240VAC, 50/60 Hz - OUTPUT: 14.1VDC
I think they're around 15 amps, but I'm not 100% positive. I'm sure someone else on here can chime in.

Must be an oldie. Only thing I could find in my old sourcebooks is that it subs to REX4201A which lists it as a PS w/ Cable for the Spectra $407.00

I have seen quite a few around. Got these for $25 each from State surplus. Virtually new. One looks as if it was just taken out of the box. Anyway, they did not come with 12v connector or cable. I was hoping someone had one in use or a book that would give me the pinout.
Still, not a bad deal even if only one of them works!

Anyone have a pinout or spec sheet for these. I just don't want to fry a radio

Yea, I knew that was coming. I was just hoping someone out there had the amp rating on the supply (cont. vs intermit.) and also did not know if one of the three pins was rated higher than the other, etc.
To answer your question, Yes I do

Look at the heatsink, does it have one or two diamond shaped transistors.
Two power transistors is good for 15 amps.
Things to look out for on this powersupply...
Output voltage runs very high 14 to 15 volts
May have "hum" on transmit..bad 100uf cap..
Output voltage at 22 volts, common, shorted pass transistors on heatsink

The HPN3000A power supply can handle 15 amperes. It was intended to power a Spectra mobile radio when used as a base/control station. The voltage is set to around 14.5 VDC, since that voltage is what a mobile radio sees when the vehicle engine is running. You can download the schematic diagram here:
