hi all, long time browser, first time poster
i have in my posession a radio i won from ebay, which was described as a GM1200
now, after doing alot of reading and looking at pictures the control head looks like its from a GM950 and the radio does too, but the gm950 software is being verry iffy and wont read it
also, im thinking its not a GM1200 due to the lack of the MCS style 25 pin acc connector

the product sticker on the bottom reads
Type:MD354AE
Model: M08KHH4CK6AN
Thanks in advance
Rodney

It's deff. a GM(NEW) or GTX body. I noticed 200E.
It looks like a GTX and Spectra mixed together.

Not Spectra. More like a M1225 cross with a GTX/GM900.

thanks boss, now if ive correctly read, the GM1200e requires to be programmed using the GM1200e RSS and the GM900 cable

You need the GM1200E RSS and the GM950 programming cable.

You can only use 10 conventional channels for each personality.
I tried it to flash a GM1200E into a GM950 but had no success. The hardware is completely the same but the GM950
firmware don´t work.I don´t know how.I flashed the GM1200E firmware back and the radio works again.

so im guessing that the gm1200e cant be flashed into a MCS2100 then either
you know for the amount of these radios on ebay, theres not alot of info on them on batlabs, hamsexy or the batlounge

No you can´t flash it into a MC2100 because the GM1200E is a Ariane radio and the GM1200/MCS2000/MC2100 is a Jedi (Renaicance) radio.
You can find more infos on my homepage (in german only).

It's a VHF radio, probably ex Telstra Fleetcoms, so your chances of getting it onto UHF CB are zero. IIRC, it's not even all that useful for amateur operation, because you can't set alpha tags for the conventional channels, only channel numbers.
