Moto Jedi chargers (and woes)

My 7209a seems to have decided on a monogamous relationship, it refuses to charge 4 batteries, except for ONE OEM NiCd. I have other OEM Jedi NiCD batteries, but no, it only likes this particular one. I don't even know how it knows it's THAT one, I can't trick it! Everything else it flashes both red/green simultaneously at me. I wonder if I killed it by feeding it with a cheap non-sinusoidal (but not square wave) inverter from the car.

I need a new charger. I don't have Impres batteries, I'm looking at the NTN1667A or RLN4884B.

Does anyone know if the non-Impres charging algorithms are different across different chargers (apart from the overnight?) My eyes are glazing over looking MOL with the part numbers. I've posted what I've found so far, hopefully it can help someone else too.

----------

NTN1174A (NTN7160A without wallwart) :16-hour overnight charger.
Drop-in overnight charger for NiCd adn NiMH. Wallwart feeds 12vdc @ 200mA into the charger.

RPX4747A (AAHTN9001B without wallwart) : Jedi/XTS "Intellicharge 2"
(RPX4748A : 220v Euro plug, RPX4749B : 220v UK plug)

NTN7209a (NTN1168A kit) : Jedi/XTS "Shoe" charger
For NiCD and NiMH. No wallwart, world-power via an IEC power cable. Tons of reported problems with this charger. Avoid.

RLN4884B : Jedi/XTS vehicle charger

NTN1667A (NTN8831A without wallwart) : Jedi/XTS/Saber Tri-chem non-Impres charger
NiCd/NiMH/Li-Ion rapid charger. 18vdc, so can't plug directly into 12v vehicle like the Intellicharge 2

WPLN4111AR : Impres tri-chem charger
NiCd/NiMH/Li-Ion rapid charger. No wallwart, world-power via an IEC power cable.
