GM300 Call Alert with Voice- resetting

Currently have a fleet of GM300 units with MDC Signalling and Call Alert. Customer now wants to send out an All Call and\or Group Call with a message. Call Alert was set to Manual Reset and would reset fine with PTT. Upon changing Call Alert to Call Alert w\Voice ..... can no longer reset radio with PTT and must reset by pressing the Monitor Button. Is this Normal ?? Monitor Buttons are disabled on radios to keep nosey personnel from being able to listen in. Is toggling Monitor the only way to reset a Call Alert w\ Voice ????
