Hello. Have the following VHF Spectra Model # D43KMA7JA4AK

Conventional model only radio

I added all the conventional channels, in each mode (channel) there is no option to make it scan capable. I went into scan list and it says that scan is not enabled. I can not find anywhere to enable scan. The radio is set for zones, I checked the remote head set up to make sure the scan button is enabled and it is. Again, I can not find anywhere to make any channel scan capable.

At the least, it sounds as if you haven't entered any channels into the scan list per zone. Scan in Zone operation is enabled by entering channels (16 max per zone) into the scan raster either by RSS, or depending on RSS options selected, through the control head. To do that, give a long press of the SCAN button to get into Scan Program Mode, scroll through the channel list, and SELECT the channels to be scanned and their scan status. To exit Scan Program Mode, press HOME.

If you've set it up for zone operation, created and named your zones, and already entered your channels accessed per zone, you're halfway home. Then, if you've already been into the SCAN LIST and SCAN OPTIONS, and you want to set up the scan lists per zone through the RSS, you'll need to follow this tree:
From the MAIN MENU page, select
F4 - CHANGE/CREATE/VIEW Radio Codeplug Data
F2 - RADIO-WIDE Configuration
F7 - ZONE LIST, where you went to F2 and entered your channels accessed per
zone
F7 - SCAN LIST, and enter the channels you want to scan per zone and their
scan status. Exit, save, and program the radio.

Or as mentioned above, you can simply set it all up in F7 SCAN LIST and F8 SCAN OPTIONS on the ZONE LIST page, and then F10 EXIT and program the radio. Once that's done, you can enter the channels you want to scan per zone from the control head by going to Scan Program Mode. Remember, entering channels into the scan list by the control head only applies to the zone you're in. You'll need to enter a scan list for each zone by changing zones and repeating the process for each zone. Once you do this for each zone, they're in there, and it's only a matter of revising a given zone's list on the fly when necessary.

if you did not set up scan before you selected zones, then scan options are no longer available. go to model specific and read about spectra. have fun olepro
