Minitor V Two-Tone Pager Modification Question

Looking for a simple solution to my problem. My fire department uses Minitor V pagers to alert the on-duty shift of a call. This pager is also connected to the speakers so that we can hear the "beeping" alert of the pager through out the fire stations. What I would like to know is can the pagers themselves be modified or is there an amp that can take the alert and start it out quiet and ramp it up louder and louder. This way it isn't such a shock the system when it goes off at 3 in the morning.

if the station is using something like a cdm1250 that's running the station speaker you can set it to escalert to do exactly what you want.

How about sellecting a different alert? Do you need a alert or just the message? Could you set it to fixed alert duration and set it really low so it won't alert as long? Perhaps if it's shorter it won't be as startling.

The digital storge device mentioned at http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=66617 will do what you want. When you "record" the sound sample, start with a low gain setting and ramp it up along the desired curve. Dont forget to wire an acknowledge button to shut the thing off (by the exit of the bunkroom for example)
