Batboard

Picked this rascal up on E-Bay a few years ago for next to nothing. Works fine, with surprisingly good receiver sensitivity, but the ID tag is missing from the thing. Appears to be some sort of low powered Motrac chassis, but I haven't found anything inside to confirm that. I'd appreciate any guesses. If anyone has any idea what a standard model ID sequence for these looked like, a "rough draft" might make it easier to look for parts. I can get some more detailed photos, if necessary.

VHF high (152-156 stuff in there now), 4 channel, carrier squelch

Looks lika a Motrac Consolette. Model # should be something like L33LHB1090 for carrier squelch and 4 channels.

Many thanks for the quick response and details. I got into the radio collecting business a few years after those guys were past their prime, so this is all new to me. I did have an LHT series Motrac mobile assigned to me in the 70's that was a fine piece of technology, though. It's been 20 years since I've seen it, but the last I heard was that it was still ticking.

If the PA deck has a tube for an amp, it's a Motrac series, if the PA is solid state, then it's a Mocom 70.

Yep, there's a tube in there, and if I remember my LHT Motrac correctly, they don't give those things away for free, either. Still trying to find where I wrote the tube ID down, as my plan was to find a spare. The other plan was to try to find the hookup instructions for the DC remote at the link below, and stick that on there. Haven't gotten that job done yet, either.

40 watt transmitter, two tubes, driver and 6883 final.

Cleaner still, since that E-Bay photo was taken. The transformer at the front left was replaced, and all the scorch marks are gone from the chassis now.

I sure would like to get a look at that. The outift I bought it from said they thought they had one around the shop somewhere, and that's the last I heard from them. I'd be more than willing to pay you for your time and effort, if it's of copyable/.pdf convertable size. Still looking for a manual for the Motrac Consolette, too. I have the mic terminals on the rear strip IDed, but that's it.

I don't have either unit unpacked/available right now to answer those questions, but as soon as I do, I will, although I'm not sure I'd recognize a DC interface board if it came up and bit me in the oscillator.
