Keynote Question

Post by motofreak008 »

I have some questions about Keynote pagers and I know that you guys can answer them. I would like to get a pager to use as a small scanner for only two or three channels. Does the Keynote pager come in multiple channels and if so, how many? Also, can it scan those channels? Is it programmable or does it have crystals and do you have to have software and a license to program it? Any info would be much appreciated.

The keynote is a single channel, crystal controlled pager. It's frequencies are set by crystal (as stated), and the tones/codes are programmed using a PC, UPI, cradle and software.

They do NOT support the "monitor" feature, so they aren't carrier-squelch. It's blow-squelch all the time or tone-alert.

HOWEVER

There was some guy (don't ask me who, I don't remember) who sold a monitor modification kit for these.

Still though, single channel, no scan, crystal controlled.

How do you open them to change crystals?
