Batboard

I am sitting with a Quantar VHF station which was programmed by the previous owner to code plug 12. It gave problems and was given away to our amateur club. If I look at the station firmware, prom's etc it should be programmed to code plug 10. Can I erase the code plug and down grade it. I have RSS v10 and v12.
