I am a bit confused. I have a H01KDC9AA3BN HT1000
One link here says K means 146-178 bandsplit and right below it it says K is 136-178 so which is which ?

This would be just about on the money:
H05KDD9AA4BN 16-Frequency, 2-Character Top Display, 5- to 1-Watt, 136 - 178MHz
H05KDH9AA7BN 16-Frequency, 2-Character Top Display, 5- to 1-Watt, 136 - 178MHz, 3 x 4 Keypad
H05RDD9AA4BN 16-Frequency, 2-Character Top Display, 4- to 1-Watt, 403 - 470MHz
H05RDH9AA7BN 16-Frequency, 2-Character Top Display, 4- to 1-Watt, 403 - 470MHz, 3 x 4 Keypad
H05SDD9AA4BN 16-Frequency, 2-Character Top Display, 4- to 1-Watt, 450 - 520MHz
H05SDH9AA7BN 16-Frequency, 2-Character Top Display, 4- to 1-Watt, 450 - 520MHz, 3 x 4 Keypad
H05UCD6AA4BN 16-Frequency, 2-Character Top Display, 3- to 1-Watt, 806 - 870MHz
H05UCH6AA7BN 16-Frequency, 2-Character Top Display, 3- to 1-Watt, 806 - 870MHz, 3 x 4 Keypad

scroll down to: Visar Model Chart http://www.batlabs.com/visar.html#5

although I have seen some "K" band jedi radios go only to 174 (174 0r 178 no big deal)
the bottom should be 136. not 146.
depends on the history of the radio, read the rss & look at the bandsplit. Some people have done tool, lab, hack, ect... to a radio which might change the split.

If you really need to go above or below the limits a few mhz, the shift-key trick works good. But I think they all work down to 136...

As Jim and others pointed out, the HT1000 radio on VHF is 'normally' 136-174 and is usually the only model that covers the wide frequency spread with that model, the UHF models require TWO as the radios are too wide spaced to work the entire band split efficiently, so you get two, one covers 403-470 and the second covers 450-520 Mhz.

I've never seen Jedis that cover odd splits in any band segment..

I.E: 152.3 - 178.1 and so on.

Not to split hairs, or maybe a typo on your end but "M" specs read: K =136-178
I"ve seen very few that stop at 174 (unless?????)
