Spectra Console Base Station

Post by motohead »

I have a UHF spectra and it works great! Had it attached to a 30 AMP Power supply and it put out!
It is currently set on high power, I am guessing around 50 Watt. I purchased a base station cabinet
for it and put it in. After starting up, it receives great but blacks out and restarts when transmitting?
The base was tested before shipping to me as good, so I am wondering if it does not put out enough
power in the HIGH POWER mode and maybe I have to reprogram the radio to low power?

Any feedback would be good!

Thanks,

I assume you mean a consolete housing.
The power supply in these is HPN4005.
Max is about 15 amps. Ithink the spec is 13.5
Turn the power down and it should work.
The other option is if you have the DC input option use the 30 amp supply or just run the wires into the unit.

A dashmount type UHF spectra should be 40 watts. A 15 amp power supply should handle it. Is RF getting into the unit and shutting down the power supply perhaps? I'd check all the coax connections.
