HT1550 FPP features

Hello !
Having owned a JT1000, I would like to know what features are available to program on the front panel (using a red battery) of the HT1550XLS, and what other features that require the CPS to be programmed.

basically you can only edit "limited" features that are already in the radio, you can not create new modes or zones or lists, only edit what is already there. i don't think it's worth it myself, even without the battery you can edit scan lists and a few other things. it's easier to just plug it into your computer and alter it that way.

Okay you are saying with battery you can rpogram the radio I talked with Motorola and was you can program the red battery. I still want to buy one soon. I got the MT-1000 now for 440 mhz ham radio use. I love and hate it I love the 99 channels I got with it I progranm the channel from the ham book to where travel but the bad thing is that most repeater change teir PL from time to time so it leave out in the cold.

The red battery is the "key", but as HLA points out you are only able to edit a channel that is programmed in. The FPP is a very nice option, but the CPS is still needed to program it the first time.
When you get ready to buy a HT1550, drop me a PM I have a lot here F/S, both UHF, and VHF (I only have a few VHF).
