just a quick questions for you spectra gods will this unit work with a analog vhf spectra
Up for auction is a Motorola
ASTRO SPECTRA VEHICLE REPEATER SYSTEM (VRS-EP). This is a UHF 403-470 MHz 300 mW. This comes with a Motorola Spectra VRS Interface Cable. The model number is HKN6038B

There are a few options. You can find many Pyramid UHF (25KHZ) mobile repeaters available for dirt cheap. You can also look for a Motorola VRS SP02 model, which is crystal controlled. A SP01 may work, with limited functions (mine worked minus mode steering). Vertex also makes a mobile repeater that you can interface.

Is this vrs crystol controled or does the astro spectra RSS set the frequencies?

In the VRS-EP series the VRS is programmed via the software, no crystals need to be changed.

I think you confused the VRS-EP with the VRS-750.
Everything in the VRS and VRS-EP is RSS programmable, except for the operating frequency. They are both crystal controlled EXPO or R-NET radios inside the units.

It is the VRS-750 frequency that is RSS programmable.
