HT1250 Signal Response Time

My VHF HT1250 seems to be a bit slow in the capture.. it
cuts off the first word or so. Quite a bit slower than my Visar.
I was looking through the RSS, and didn't see any fields for changing
the response time. Older RSS' had things like power save, etc which
would take the radio a bit more time to wake up.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Tim

Are you using mdc signalling? If so, are you using the display decode id setting also? I have noticed that this can cause slow unmuting in some firmware versions. If that is the case I would read through the help screens in the mdc signalling system there are some dos mute timers and such to play with. Hope this helps.

Hi BW21,
Thanks for the heads up. Yes, I am using MDC & display decode.
I'll adjust the values & see what happens.
Thanks again,
Tim

Also take a look at the MDC "coast time" (setting how long the audio remains muted after the MDC data stream ceases).

Thanks RKG,
We are just getting setup on MDC1200, and my portable is the only one enabled.
The audio delays are on signals that don't have any MDC transmissions.
When we get operational, I don't think it'll be a problem, as we will be using
'key-up' signalling.
Thanks,
Tim
