how to go through call list with no keypad?

I'm working on an mtx 838 with top display. I would like to make it able to call out from a call list but can not figure out how to setup the buttons allowing toggling through the list. I was reading in rss help about a one touch x feature but its not there when I go through the list. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Rob M.
