Hi All,

If one ordered 2 XTS2500 radios at the begining of this month and requested that Motorola "expedite" the order what can you expect for a delivery date? I was figuring 3 weeks?

Any ideas or comments?

I ordered 50 on the 15th June and they are yet to ship so maybe you need to adjust your hopes

In general, you're going to pay high-dollar price tags, wait a long time, and get crappy service from both your salespeople and MexiMoto's CTDI-contracted service techs. And you're gonna like it too, dammit.

Expect 6 to 8 week delivery time from the point it shows up on MOL.
I think the only item's that I have ever received in 3 weeks, even expedited, are batteries.

I know that I've seen at least two contracts that either counties or states have had with Motorola, which explicitly state battery order turn around times. Most have said no more than 3 days wait time from time of order, to time of delivery.

I'm not sure if your area has the same stipulations, but if they do, you should speak at the contract manager who probably is able to puff out their chest a bit more since they control the contract! (and if it's not in yours, maybe you should add it in there for next year!)

Because these High Tier Radios are customized they are built in the order they are received. For a customer of our who ordered 140 XTL5000 Mobiles with 05 Head's, 11 Quantars, 175 XTS5000 MIII. It took 32 weeks to get everything. Radios started arriving after 9 weeks, portables first in one shipment , then Quantars in three shippments, and finally several shipments the XTL's.

The radios actually came in on August 2nd, while I was away on vacation. I guess with a small order you may get a quicker turn-around time.

Well price book lead time on the XTS2500 is 8 weeks, so getting them in anything less than is like winning the lottery. I sold a single XTS5000 and it took them about 3 weeks to build it.

I ordered parts once on MOL and a shop delivered them next-day. IDK if it's because I'm close to Schaumburg or what - but I haven't tried ordering radios like that yet.

Parts will always ship same day if they are in stock and ordered by the 4pm CST ship deadline. Low and mid tier radios generally have a 3 day lead (but will often ship same day if ordered by 11am CST) and high tier radios will take much longer. The card says 8 weeks for most XTS and XTL radios (and up to 12 weeks for some site equipment... I think the Aeroflex monitors have an 8 to 12 week card as well)
