Minitor V Charge Problem (Regular Charger)

Hey Everyone...
I just had a very weird problem with a Minitor V pager my department just issued us. When it was placed in the REGULAR charger, the charge light would flash for about five seconds like it was "analyzing" the battery composition, then it would go solid red. An hour later, the light would turn green. When the pager was turned on directly after charging, it showed only two out of three bars of battery being available. After that, it took the battery around 2 hours to completely go dead. After this, I removed the battery from the pager, and placed it in the spare battery charging port. The light was red for around two or three hours and then went green. Using this method, it appears that the battery was correctly charged as my pager is indicating full charge and has been on now for around 8 hours without any change in status or operation.
Now I just read all the problems with the amplified chargers which seem to remotely resemble my problem, however, I am using a regular charger, not an amplified charger. Have there been any reported problems with the regular chargers? Does anyone have any thoughts about this?
Thank you for reading! =)
