Can anyone tell me if the XTS5000 software will work to program the XTS2500? Some say it will some say it won't.

Yes, it will program a 2500.... and pr1500/xts1500's... mt1500's... etc.

The only thing I have heard that you can only use the USB programming cable with the 2500 just a rumor though

works fine on 5000 and 1500 as well as 2500
