Hi All,
I have a Motorola Astro Spectra model D04KKF9PW5AN is VHF 110w i use a Rss Ver 08.00.00 may 99',i have problem to give a name to frequency,i find a place in personality tu put a rx and tx frequency, but can't find a option to enter a name for chanel, also does anybody know where in rss i can change values for intensity of
modulation for microphone? Now i get a report for very throaty/deep modulation and it's realy screechy to listen, thanks to all Ivica!

This isn't the place (and I haven't the time) for a complete primer on programming via the "MTSX Metaphor" (which applies to the AstroM RSS), but here's the short course:
First, program a "conventional personality" for each channel you want to use. This is where the freq, signalling, associated scan list, and other parameters go.
Second, program a "zone" for each group of channels to be accessed by the "mode" selector. Each entry in the "zone" contains the alphanumeric display text plus a pointer to the conventional "personality" invoked by that slot in the zone.
Third: program the buttons and menu items. If there is more than one zone, you'll need a menu item for changing zones or buttons for "zone up" and "zone down".

Ok,Thanks i try and it's working, but what to do with modulation level?
Re: Motorola Astro Spectra RSS questions?Help!
Are you talking about mic gain?
Whats the problem that you are having?

Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system

Re: Motorola Astro Spectra RSS questions?Help!
Yes i talking about mic gain,i get a deep and understanding modulation report.Where i can change a parameters for mic gain.
Re: Motorola Astro Spectra RSS questions?Help!
Just what are you trying to change on the TX modulation?
What is a deep and understanding modulation report? What is wrong with that?
If you don't have a deviation meter, you had better leave well enough alone until you have one.

yes i have a deviation problem,is to high and anybody can understand me what i talk.
Re: Motorola Astro Spectra RSS questions?Help!
You are pretty hard to understand, I am guessing English is not your primary language. Jim Already pretty much answered your question here.YT1DIM wrote:yes i have a deviation problem,is to high and anybody can understand me what i talk.
This is commercial equipment you are trying to work with here, my first suggestion is buy a copy of the service manual from Motorola. That would at least point you in the right direction and probably would be easier for you to translate as it is a technical manual written as such.Jim202 wrote:Just what are you trying to change on the TX modulation?
