Maxtrac Flat Unmuted Audio?

How do I pull non-deemphasized audio from a Maxtrac 100 with the HLN9123A logic board? I've tried using Pin 3 of the interboard connector on it, but the level is extremely low beyond useful. I'm trying to interface it to a PC sound card for packet data. I know I could probably go get a 16 pin, but I have several of these and would rather just use them. Is there any other point I could use or something I could do to increase the gain while not corrupting the packet data?

I use pin 8 on the mic jack for repeater building, link radios, packet, you name it. I haven't had any problem with that at all. You could also take off the top of the volume control so it wouldn't be affected by the pot. Other than that you could also use the speaker output, but then its not flat, for more audio.
The mic jack pin 8 handset audio line is J8 pin 4, and the top of the volume control is J8 pin 1.
Pin 3 of the interconnect to the RF board is detector audio and you won't have enough level there to do squat with it, at least in my experience with the Maxtrac. Your better off going to J8 pin 4, thats the fourth pin from the right on the head that the front panel connects to. J8 is the right set of pins, J9 is the left set of pins. Or you can use the top of the volume control for even more audio. The handset audio line to J8 pin 4 has an added resistor inline, 560k if i remember right.
