Just read your radio and don't write back to it. Save a couple of copies of the codeplug, play around with one of them, learn, etc. When you feel comfortable, read it again, make your changes, and then write to the radio.

I understand you can read the radio and go from there, HOWEVER the radio will not be here till tuesday and I wanted to familiarize myself with it before I get the unit thats why I was asking for a codeplug.
